Role: Product Owner

Location: Alpharetta, GA / Ottawa, Canada

Job Description:

  • Identify and assess client s business requirements.
  • Clearly define the scope of work to be completed.
  • Document detailed requirements for the development team to work from.
  • Collaborate with the Stakeholders, Architects and development team to create solutions.
  • Review completed solutions to confirm requirements have been met.
  • Present solutions to involved stakeholders.
  • Work with other Business Analysts to review and improve standards.
  • Work with the Manager to review project timelines, scoping, and project statuses.
  • Take functional lead of the overall project teams as the Product Owner
  • Providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Participate, Own scrum ceremonies
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
  • Lead the planning for product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
  • Plan and run small to large client projects

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Solid experience as a Business Analyst, at least 5+ year(s) ideally
  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner for 5+ year(s)
  • Bachelor s in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven experience with high level planning, problem solving and analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Creative thinker with a vision
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to draw out the needs and requirements of clients.
  • Quick learner that can be put into new situations and quickly become a domain expert.
  • Analytical skills along with being able to conceptualize, design and document new features and business requirements.
  • Attention to details.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.

Skills:

  • Knowledge, hands-on experience in Jira, Confluence
  • Knowledge, hands-on experience in MS Visio or in similar softwares
  • Writing basic SQL queries
  • Technical background will be a plus
