MBA CSi is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support the AGV and Robotics Engineering group within USPS s Engineering Systems organization. In this hands-on role, you ll work in a machine lab environment to produce precision mechanical parts using CNC equipment, supporting the development and deployment of cutting-edge automated systems across USPS facilities.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to the USPS s transformative automation initiatives using Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and robotic technologies that improve mail processing efficiency nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate CAD/CAM designs into G-Code for CNC machining and fabricate mechanical parts to specification.
- Support machining, prototyping, and small-scale production runs for AGV and robotics systems.
- Resolve mechanical design and fabrication challenges in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Assist with modifications to existing machinery and custom components.
- Support lab operations including welding (a plus), material preparation, and equipment maintenance.
- Leverage your knowledge of mechanical drafting practices and CNC technologies to deliver high-quality results on time.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma required, Associate s Degree or Bachelor s Degree in related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 2+ years programming and operating CNC machines.
- 2+ years working with CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- 4 6 years of total experience in mechanical drafting, fabrication, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) and virtual collaboration tools (Zoom, MS Teams).
- Familiarity with robotics or an interest in automation technologies is highly desirable.
- Welding experience is a plus.
