Location: Houston/Austin, TX

Role Overview

The eCommerce Functional Analyst / Product Owner will own the end-to-end functional roadmap for digital commerce capabilities across B2B and B2C channels. The role bridges business, UX, and technical delivery teams translating customer and business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for development on platforms such as SAP Commerce (Hybris), Adobe Experience Cloud, Salesforce Commerce, or Magento.

This individual will act as the voice of the customer and business in agile ceremonies, define product priorities, and ensure that delivered solutions drive measurable business outcomes in terms of customer experience, conversion, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to define the eCommerce product vision, roadmap, and quarterly priorities.
  • Gather and document functional and non-functional requirements across catalog, pricing, promotions, cart/checkout, order management, and self-service workflows.
  • Convert epics and features into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to validate wireframes and ensure user-centric design principles.
  • Work closely with architects and technical teams to review designs, ensure functional alignment, and manage change impacts.
  • Define and execute UAT and business validation plans, coordinating with QA and release teams.
  • Maintain a living product backlog, drive grooming and sprint planning sessions, and ensure stories meet Definition of Ready and Done.
  • Support analytics and A/B testing initiatives to evaluate feature performance and ROI.
  • Provide post-release functional support and participate in retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in eCommerce functional consulting, product ownership, or business analysis.
  • Deep understanding of digital commerce processes catalog management, pricing & promotions, checkout, payments, and order fulfillment.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more platforms: SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), Salesforce Commerce, Adobe/Magento, or Shopify Plus.
  • Familiarity with integration points to ERP, CRM, OMS, and Payment Gateways.
  • Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to balance business priorities and technical constraints.
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making, using tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or Power BI.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to Headless Commerce / Composable Commerce architectures.
  • Experience with SAP S/4 or BRIM integration for order-to-cash processes.
  • Knowledge of SEO, site performance, and accessibility standards.
  • Certification: CSPO / PSPO / Agile Product Owner or equivalent.
