Job Details
The Village is seeking a skilled and dedicated IT professional to oversee the design, implementation, and support of its critical technology infrastructure. This position plays a vital role in maintaining secure and reliable systems, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, and communications technologies. It offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to efficient and innovative local government operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the Village s network infrastructure, including wired/wireless networks, servers, storage systems, security solutions, and Active Directory/Azure AD services.
- Administer IP telephony systems, including voicemail, E911 services, and call tree configurations.
- Manage both on-premise and cloud-based technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Ensure system security, compliance, and operational efficiency by following established standards and policies.
- Monitor system performance, apply patches and upgrades, and maintain regular backups and recovery processes.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure components, procedures, and licensing inventories.
- Provide advanced (Tier 3) technical support and assist in mentoring Tier 1 and 2 IT staff.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities, and coordinate with third-party vendors as needed for specialized projects.
Must haves for the ideal candidate include:
- Valid Illinois Driver s License
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or related area.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with a broad range of IT infrastructure technologies.
- Strong knowledge in combination of Microsoft Windows Server (all current versions), Active Directory, Azure/Entra AD, and Microsoft 365 (including G3/G5 licensing, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and email administration).
- Experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager, Unity Connection, Emergency Responder, and voice gateways; Webex Calling and conferencing experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Cisco and Meraki networking hardware, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as Broadcom/VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Local government IT experience is preferred but not required.

Range of the Position/ Grade: $82,800 - $120,870 | Grade 295
FLSA Status: Exempt - Full-time
