Title: Database Administrator (Parttime, Remote) Schedule: 20 hours/week, Monday Friday, preferably 8:00 AM 12:00 PM PST (fully remote) Duration: 12 Months

Description:
Seeking an expert Oracle DBA to support modernization of a core application while maintaining legacy Oracle environments. Responsibilities include script development, performance tuning, SQL/PL-SQL optimization, security management, CI/CD support, data interfaces, and flat-file integrations. Requires 9+ years of Oracle DBA experience, strong SQL/PL-SQL, UNIX/AIX, shell scripting, and experience with TOAD/SQL Developer. Excellent communication and collaboration skills required. Azure, Agile, and juvenile justice domain experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute database scripts and modernization processes.
- Review, optimize, and implement SQL views, PL/SQL functions, triggers, and procedures.
- Evaluate the impact of database and application changes; provide clear communication to stakeholders.
- Maintain, monitor, and secure all database environments including production, test, reporting, and development.
- Manage data access controls, user security, auditing, and compliance with data access policies.
- Ensure stability and performance of both legacy and modernized applications running in parallel.
- Support developers, QA, integration teams, and vendor partners with database needs during modernization.
- Maintain and troubleshoot data interfaces, flat-file exchange processes, and helpdesk database requests.
- Participate in technical, architecture, and stand-up meetings as needed.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous improvement of database deployment processes.
Required Qualifications
- 9+ years Oracle DBA experience (11g, 12c, or newer) including tuning, schema management, security, and performance.
- 9+ years writing and optimizing SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and modernization scripts.
- 9+ years working with schemas, security management, password policies, and database tools (TOAD, SQL Developer).
- Experience with UNIX/AIX, shell scripting, cron jobs, virtual machines.
- 5+ years working with CI/CD pipelines.
- 5+ years designing, developing, and supporting data interfaces and flat-file integration processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferrred Skills:
Experience in juvenile justice, public safety, or related domains.
Experience with applications hosted on Azure cloud.
Experience working in an agile environment.
Education:
Associate s or bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
