Job Details

Our DOD client is seeking a highly motivated Senior System Administrator to join their dynamic team in Moorestown, New Jersey. As a leader in our industry, they value innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership for projects, documenting outcomes and observations for continuous improvement.
  • Perform hands-on technical duties with Linux servers and desktops.
  • Address escalated trouble tickets, troubleshooting software, hardware, and networking issues.
  • Perform system maintenance and software installations in a Linux environment.
  • Configure IT hardware, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance with standards and project requirements.
  • Install and maintain monthly security patches as required.
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Multi-task and adapt to changing directions to meet customer needs.
  • Proactively support management on technology direction, process development, and implementation.
  • Monitor health and performance of labs, supporting users, and adhering to IT policies and procedures.
  • Generate operational processes for lab usage and support, identifying opportunities for improvement in operational processes, tools, and automation.
  • Contribute to the formulation of a vision and roadmap for non-production environments and support implementation.
  • Install and configure AFMS products within AFMS lab environments (on-premises and cloud) and customer sites.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Experience with various server types (web, file, license, application, etc.).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, PERL, etc.).
  • Experience with RHEL-based Linux distributions.
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible preferred, Terraform a plus).
  • Familiarity with VMware vCenter and vSphere v6.5 or newer.
  • Experience with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of networking and TCP/IP.
  • Understanding of patch management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and coordinate several concurrent tasks.
  • Able to interface with users in a pleasant and tactful manner.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new IT technologies.
  • Willingness to occasionally work non-standard hours as required.
  • A team player with the ability to work well independently with limited direction.
