Job Description
Are you an experienced Appian Developer looking for a long-term opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a remote environment? Join Next Gen Software Solutions LLC as a Senior Appian Developer and play a pivotal role in designing and building mission-critical applications for a high-profile federal client. This is a unique opportunity to lead, mentor, and contribute to impactful projects while collaborating with a team of talented professionals.
Important Note: This is a specialized Appian Developer role. Candidates without hands-on Appian experience or certifications will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor development team members, ensuring adherence to Appian best practices.
- Design, develop, and implement applications using Appian BPM and integrate them with COTS products.
- Create technical documentation, including design documents, target state diagrams, and detailed development instructions.
- Build Appian applications and integration components using Java (for Appian-specific integrations).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance to mid-level developers.
- Collaborate with release managers on deployment strategies and version control.
- Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and troubleshooting meetings.
- Work through the entire project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to post-deployment maintenance.
- Develop BPM specifications for integrating legacy applications with modern systems.
- Master's degree with 8+ years of IT/software development experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of IT/software development experience.
- Appian Development Expertise:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Appian BPM, building mission-critical applications.
- Proficiency in Appian SAIL, Process Models, and Appian application configuration.
- Experience in addressing Appian performance issues and tuning for optimal performance.

- Integration and Supporting Technologies:
- 5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE for Appian integration and Web Services (including RESTful APIs).
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JSON, XML, JavaScript, and Ajax for front-end development and integration.

- Business Process Management (BPM):
- Strong expertise in business analysis, BPM specifications, and model-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with integrating legacy systems into modern platforms using Appian.

- Must have the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
- Must have resided in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
- FDA Public Trust badge is required before starting.
