Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

Location:

Duration: 12+ months

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned software engineer with strong cloud and infrastructure experience, particularly in platform engineering, automation, and tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines; automate deployments and configuration management

  • Write scripts in Python and Shell for automation and system administration

  • Architect and develop internal tools to support engineering and platform efficiency

  • Work with distributed systems and microservices, ensuring performance, scalability, and resilience

  • Support and enhance infrastructure monitoring using tools like Prometheus and Grafana

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across environments

  • Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software solutions

  • Manage SQL and NoSQL databases, including architecture and administration

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years in software engineering, with 4+ years in application development

  • 4+ years of Python scripting for automation

  • 8+ years of experience with IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet)

  • Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines

  • 6+ years working with Docker containers in production environments

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, Git workflows, configuration management

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred)

  • Familiarity with distributed systems and frameworks like Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, Spark

  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with streaming platforms like Kafka, NATS, Kinesis, or Event Hub

  • Exposure to Databricks, Apache Spark, and Elastic Search

  • API management with tools like Apigee

  • Monitoring and observability using Datadog or New Relic.
