Principal Technical Business Architect Data Governance

Contract Length: 6 months + potential extension

Location: Dallas, Texas Hybrid (3-4 days onsite downtown Dallas)

We are seeking a Principal Technical Business Analyst/Architect to lead strategic architecture initiatives that bridge enterprise technology with evolving business needs. This high-impact role drives enterprise architecture alignment across portfolios, defines future-state technology strategies, and ensures scalable, secure, and value-driven solutions, particularly in cloud (AWS) and enterprise application domains.

As a thought leader within the enterprise architecture function, this individual will collaborate with senior stakeholders, technology leaders, and delivery teams to guide large-scale digital transformation and grid modernization programs.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years in IT, with 8+ years in architecture roles
  • Proven experience influencing enterprise technology strategy
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align technical solutions to organizational goals
  • Deep understanding of cloud (AWS preferred), application modernization, and architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
  • Experience leading enterprise initiatives across multiple domains (apps, data, security, infrastructure)
  • Strong grasp of regulatory, compliance, and cyber risk considerations
  • Executive-level communication, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps across business units
  • Partner with senior business and technology leaders to align architecture with strategic priorities
  • Lead architectural governance, including review boards, solution assessments, and policy enforcement
  • Guide business capability modeling and target state architecture definitions
  • Oversee integration of enterprise-wide initiatives across cloud, application, security, and data domains
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, assess impact, and drive innovation recommendations
  • Provide architectural oversight for transformational programs, ensuring delivery of scalable, resilient, and secure solutions
  • Mentor solution and domain architects; promote architectural consistency and best practices
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, translating complex technical strategies into business-aligned outcomes
