HOW A DDN NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio frequency, and/or data communications networks
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems.
- Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
- Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- May provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.
- Knowledge of Data Center and Virtualization
- Knowledge of Automation techniques and structure
- Participates in special projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
- Required Experience: 20+ years of related Network Engineering experience. Required Technical Skills: Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols, Cisco IOS software and hardware features, ability to configure and troubleshoot Multicast, and knowledge and experience with VoIP/collaboration systems
- Security Clearance Level: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
- Required Skills and Abilities: Must possess a completed CCNA certification.
- Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access
- Location: Hampton, Virginia
