About the Role:
Job Title: Software Engineer
Overview:
- We are seeking a skilled and experiencedSoftware Engineerto join our team for a critical code refactoring project.
- This role focuses on facilitating the migration of our tech stack fromR to Python, rebuilding key analytical tools to accelerate adoption, simplify productionization, and enhance overall efficiency.
Primary Focus:
Migration from R to Python
Code refactoring
Centralizing metrics
Productionizing Python pipelines
Building data visualizations
API connectivity
Key Responsibilities:
Refactor and simplify productionization pipelines to improve efficiency, reduce complexity, and drive broader adoption.
Analyze and understand existing R codebase and functionality to ensure accurate and optimized migration to Python.
Translate complex logic and algorithms from R into clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code.
Design, develop, and implement new end-to-end data and modeling pipelines using Python and modern system design best practices.
Write comprehensive unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure reliability, accuracy, and performance.
Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality, readability, and maintainability.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation for systems and processes to ensure smooth handover.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks in Python applications and data pipelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a quantitative field (Math, Stats, Data Science).
Strong proficiency inPython(minimum 4 years professional experience).
Familiarity withRandSQL.
Experience designing and buildingdata-intensive solutions.
Experience withKubernetes/KFP, distributed compute/Dask Operator, and Web API development is a plus.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Kubeflow Pipelines (KFP) experience
Distributed computing frameworks (Dask Operator)
Web API development experience
Location: Houston, TX (3 Days Hybrid Onsite role)
Salary Range: The annual [salary/hourly rate] for this position is between [$55,000-65,000 annually]/[$30.00-40.00 per hour). Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
