Project Overview
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) was established as a means of recognizing cost savings through the consolidation of State IT assets and resources. The creation of OTS consolidated a wide variety of existing hardware platforms, operating systems, database management systems, networks, third-party software, and custom applications.
OTS leads the State s technology procurement process to standardize technology over the entire organization, seek efficiencies of operations, maintenance, and scalability of new products introduced to the OTS suite of services, which can eventually be offered to all in-scope agencies.
Duties/Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day project management support, ensuring smooth execution of project activities and alignment with objectives.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, project schedules and plans, meeting minutes, risk and issue logs, and other required documents.
Plan activities and resources, coordinating assignments to ensure optimal utilization and timely project delivery.
Analyze project risks and issues, and develop effective mitigation strategies to address them.
Monitor processes and project deliverables to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and project goals.
Conduct cost/benefit analysis to support decision-making and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Document project specifications and track requirements to maintain project scope and alignment.
Provide day-to-day support for ongoing project management and business processes.
Continuously evaluate and improve processes, offering support services to meet agency workload demands and enhance operational efficiency. Train and mentor team members in delivering high-quality business solutions that meet the overall strategy and vision.
Education and Certification
Bachelor s degree in computer science, or equivalent industry experience, or related field
Required Experience
Over 10 years of experience managing IT projects
More than 10 years of experience working with enterprise content management and enterprise capture solutions, providing in-depth knowledge and hands-on expertise in these areas.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with DPS policies, processes, and workflows.
Experience managing projects for, or on behalf of, the State of Louisiana.
Demonstrated experience with large-scale electronic document management systems and workflows.
Over 2 years of experience administering and managing large projects.
Experience with rate setting, cost allocation, and invoicing processes.
Proven ability to determine and establish line of service costs.
Experience managing task orders.
General understanding and hands-on experience with electronic document management systems and associated workflows
