Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Software Engineer Advisor - UI/UX Designer and Developer at GDIT. HOW A SOFTWARE ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Designs, develops, evaluates, plans and tests engineering specifications for software programs and applications
  • Leads the effort to define, plan, and conduct user research throughout the SDLC (beginning in the Discovery phase) and to create research guides and conduct iterative user research.
  • Create journey maps, personas, and other artifacts that will inform the design and development phases.
  • May create prototypes using Adobe XD, Sketch, Invision, or similar standard UX/UI software to create iterative application flows in response to the ongoing user testing.
  • May translate creative software design concepts and ideas into reality using front end technologies.
  • Conducting user research and producing related deliverables including but not limited to personas, journey maps, interview guides, mind maps, and research finding documents.
  • Use standard UX/UI software such as Sketch, InVision, and Adobe XD to create intuitive application prototypes driven by best practices around Human-Centered Design and in compliance to WCAG 2.0.
  • Work with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to create responsive, browser agnostic prototypes.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or equivalent
Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: User Research, UI/UX design and development. HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Sketch, InVision, and Adobe XD, REACT, ANGULAR
Preferred Skills: Human-Centered Design, Section 508 and compliance to WCAG 2.0

Security Clearance Level: None.
Location: Hybrid, based in New York City. Remote with travel will also be considered.

The likely salary range for this position is $150,651 - $203,823. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
