Description

SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Systems Engineering and Integration Team Lead located in Colorado Springs, Colorado to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. These include the AN/FPQ-16, Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS), the AN/FPS-132, Upgraded Early Warning (UEWR) Radars and supporting systems. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, this Team Lead is responsible for responsive and coherent integration of efforts spanning overall mission engineering; configuration and data management; cyber and system security; testing; and system safety and risk assessment.

Job Duties:
  • Leading waterfall-to-agile transformations, designed to deliver Minimum Viable Products in a consistent cadence.
  • Establishing technical baselines for large weapon systems/sensor programs, including the tools, battle rhythms, governance, oversight, and defining roles/responsibilities.
  • Lead systems engineering lifecycle (development, sustainment, operations).
  • Lead configuration and data management, hardware and software test & evaluation of classified systems.
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity solutions in existing, DoD systems.
  • Implement and sustain distributed systems, virtual operating system environments, and virtual/augmented reality technologies.
  • Manage Digital and Model-based Systems Engineering.
  • Translate operational requirements into system requirements; and system requirements into technical requirements/performance standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science or relevant STEM concentration with 15+ years of related experience. Additional experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • 14 years in systems engineering and related areas, to include delivering solutions for national security, mission-critical, no-fail applications.
  • Experience with a broad range of system types: custom developed HW/SW, COTS/GOTS HW/SW, and specialty engineering of exotic material/limited supply items.
  • Experience managing large-scale Agile or SecDevOps teams/projects, to include support to cost estimating, baseline and risk management, schedule development, performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems, Cloud hosted development, integration, and test capability.
  • Experience performing integrated lifecycle support to mission critical systems.
  • Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or relevant STEM concentration.
  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) Certification.
  • Current Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification.
  • 15 years in systems engineering, Model-based Systems Engineering and related areas, to include managing teams/projects delivering solutions for missile warning or other national security space mission systems.
  • 9 years of experience managing large-scale Agile or SecDevOps teams/projects, to include support to cost estimating, baseline and risk management, schedule development, performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems: PARCS, PAVE PAWS, UEWR.
  • Experience maintaining national security mission networks.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
