Position Title: Senior Cloud Security Engineer (Network Engineer)

Contract Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Work Location: Hybrid 2 days onsite, 3 days remote
Candidate Location: Preference for South Carolina locals. Candidates from Georgia or North Carolina may be considered if willing to relocate at their own expense.
Interview Process: Single virtual round

Position Overview:

A government agency is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer with strong expertise in AWS and Azure firewall infrastructure. This is a repost of a previous opening, with updated skill requirements.
Note: Do not resubmit candidates who were previously submitted to the earlier posting.

Key Updates from the Hiring Manager:

The role now requires strong expertise in:

  • 5+ years of experience with firewalls in AWS and Azure

  • 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls (including cloud VM series)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5 10 years of experience in Information Security and Engineering

  • 5+ years of cloud infrastructure design & maintenance in AWS and Azure

  • Expertise in firewall setup and management within AWS and Azure environments

  • Proficiency in cloud security design, operations, and automation

  • Strong skills in security documentation (tools, configurations, incident reports, etc.)

  • Must hold a valid AWS or Azure certification

  • 5+ years of experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining Palo Alto VM series firewalls

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with Prisma Cloud

  • Knowledge of Forescout

  • Exposure to Cisco Umbrella

  • Experience with F5 Load Balancing/Firewall

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or SC100 certification

  • Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect or AWS Certified Solutions Architect

  • Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer, PCNSA, or PCNSE
