Our Client, is seeking an Data Scientist

Location: Remote
Position Type: IT Full Time

Job Summary:

The Data Scientist position at Client is responsible for developing data-centric solutions to business problems by leveraging analytical and advanced modeling techniques applied to large, complex data sets. This role will work across business units to gather requirements, derive actionable insights from data, and build production-ready models in service of internal stakeholder and client needs. The responsibilities for this role include working with a variety of internal data systems within Client, performing exploratory analysis, presenting findings to leadership and other business stakeholders, and collaborating with IT and infrastructure resources to deploy AI/Client-focused products. This position requires a candidate with an enthusiasm for discovering insights in data, a desire to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in a rapidly evolving field, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering business value through analytics.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and develop statistical/machine-learning modeling solutions based on business requirements / problems
  • Support the integration of advanced statistical techniques with reporting tools
  • Gather, validate, and standardize structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources
  • Create data visualizations and analyses to communicate findings to team members and other stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, and document high-quality code that follows industry best-practices
  • Provide ad-hoc support to internal clients for data mining and other analytics
Qualifications Required:
  • Degree in a quantitative field, such as data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or physics
  • 2-5 years of relevant professional and/or technical experience
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate analyses to non-technical business partners
  • Experience working with SQL, data warehouses, and transactional databases
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as Python or R
  • Experience developing statistical and machine learning models using modern tools and frameworks
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Passion for continued learning and development of new skills
Qualifications Preferred:
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or physics
  • 3+ years of relevant professional and/or technical experience
  • Experience with insurance / claims / healthcare data a plus but not required
  • NLP experience a plus
Salary Range: $130,000
