We’re launching a major HR technology transformation that includes a two-phase migration from ServiceNow to Workday, along with the development of a new enterprise employee portal. We’re looking for a technically strong architect/engineer who can guide platform decisions, support integrations, and serve as an advisor throughout a high-visibility HR systems modernization.
You’ll work closely with architects, system implementation partners, HR stakeholders, and a Chicago-based digital team. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, development, and stakeholder management—you’re the person who understands how the systems should work, what pitfalls to avoid, and how to explain complex concepts clearly to non-technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and guide the migration from ServiceNow HRSD to Workday, ensuring integration design best practices and technical feasibility.
• Advise on architecture decisions and work closely with implementation partners for integration strategy and execution.
• Participate in the development lifecycle—review designs, debug issues, assist with component-level development when needed.
• Partner with HR and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, translate technical concepts, and support decision-making.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of a new employee portal (knowledge articles, search, AI/ML capabilities, federated experience).
• Bring expertise from past large-scale platform migrations to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate within a highly team-driven environment while also being confident enough to drive decisions and influence direction.
• Stay current on cloud architecture, platform capabilities, and best practices for ServiceNow, Workday, and modern HR tech ecosystems.
