Job Title: Sr. Release Manager
Location: Orlando, FL – Onsite at least 2x per week, subject to change
Duration: Targeting a July start
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Job at a Glance
We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Release Manager to join the Commerce Release Management team, overseeing all aspects of release services for specific projects and/or portfolios of applications. This role ensures the integrity of non-production release environments throughout each sprint. Candidates should have a strong background in modern cloud systems, release cadence planning, and technical team collaboration. This position is located onsite in Orlando, FL, with a hybrid work model requiring at least two days onsite.
Responsibilities
Day to Day

Facilitate a two-week sprint cadence of ceremonies (scope review, scope lock, environment audits, change control, testing cycles).

Review defects, status updates, and action plans from developers and testers.

Create release plans including detailed tasks and resource planning.

Collaborate with design/delivery teams and project managers to balance risk and business value.

Ensure alignment among multiple testing stakeholders regarding sprint certification scope.

Track and resolve complex service issues related to Release Management, including code collisions and environment toggles.
Continuous Improvement

Research, develop, and evaluate new release standards, processes, and tools.

Resolve or escalate issues with releases or release plans; brief delivery and support teams.

Foster collaboration and allocate tasks based on team capabilities.

Monitor release quality and performance; maintain strong stakeholder communication.

Act as single point of contact for release, deployment, and environment utilization plans.

Provide release protocol guidance to new teams and services.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
-
Minimum 5+ years of experience in service/project/release planning and execution.

Skilled in escalating project risks, managing dependencies, and identifying critical paths.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills across organizational levels.

Strong critical thinking, strategic planning, and process management abilities.
-
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
-
Deep understanding of Independent and Cadenced Release Management practices and tools.
-
Experience leading teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Proficiency in systems troubleshooting and delivery tooling (Jenkins, Rundeck, Chef).
Preferred Qualifications
-
Working knowledge of Parks and Resorts technology teams.

Experience with datacenter and platform migrations.

Familiarity with physical-to-virtual and virtual-to-cloud transitions during release cycles.

ITIL V3 certification.
Technical Requirements
-
Expertise in AWS, microservices, and modern architecture.

Understanding of Agile/SCRUM, Waterfall, and Iterative methodologies.

Familiarity with various testing types (unit, integration, regression, feature toggles, etc.).

Knowledge of RESTful services, Web services, and a broad range of digital systems and interactions.
