Join CEIs Fortune 400 Client as a Sr. Kafka Developer responsible for designing and developing scalable real-time data streaming applications utilizing Apache Kafka. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-performance data pipelines and integrate Kafka with various systems, ensuring robust and secure event-driven architectures.

Must be local to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Dallas, or Phoenix
$60-65 / HR

Key Responsibilities

Architect and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data streaming pipelines and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
Develop and maintain code for producers, consumers, and Kafka Streams applications in languages like Java.
Use Kafka Connectors to integrate Kafka with databases, cloud platforms, and legacy systems.
Configure, deploy, monitor, and maintain Kafka clusters for high availability and scalability in testing and production environments.
Troubleshoot issues, optimize configurations, and implement best practices for performance, reliability, and security.
Implement security measures across Kafka clusters and data streams to ensure data protection and compliance.
Collaborate with cross-team stakeholders to gather requirements and document technical solutions.

Required Skills

Deep knowledge of Apache Kafka architecture (brokers, topics, partitions).
Proficiency in Java programming language.
Experience with messaging and stream processing concepts.
Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot and Microservices.
Knowledge of distributed systems.
Experience with Kafka Connectors.
Experience with data processing frameworks.
Educational background with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
Kafka certification is highly valued.

Preferred Skills

Experience working with cloud environments and related tools.
Willingness to work onsite 3 days per week at preferred tech hubs listed above.
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize Kafka clusters for performance and security.
Excellent documentation skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
