Join Leidos in a critical role supporting national defense through cutting-edge missile warning and defense technologies. We're seeking a talented engineer to contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical software at Cheyenne Mountain and Peterson SFB, CO. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact systems that integrate data fusion, predictive analytics, and decision support tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software for missile defense systems
- Support CI/CD automation through scripting and pipeline optimization (Jenkins, Bamboo)
- Participate in agile sprint and increment testing to validate system functionality
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to document and communicate technical solutions
- Integrate and execute testing plans across the software development lifecycle
- Engage in agile ceremonies (scrum, retrospectives, planning) to provide feedback and guide team direction
- Build and deploy solutions aligned with industry standards and best practices
- Coordinate with Systems Engineering to schedule and demonstrate capabilities to customers
- Partner with third-party contractors and stakeholders to manage regression testing and deployment timelines
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Development, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience (additional certifications or experience may substitute for education).
- U.S. Citizen; Currently possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) and agile platforms (Jira)
- Skilled in developing system tools and dashboards
- Exceptional attention to detail and interpersonal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in associated field
- Experience with missile warning and defense systems
- Knowledge of missile warning message types
- Proven abilities with agile software development processes aligned with U.S. Government standards
