IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is looking to hire a results-oriented and adaptable Project Manager with a collaborative attitude and experience managing complex application development.

Tasks
  • Be responsible for technical and overall project management on application projects that have enterprise-wide reach.
  • Develop and maintain project charters, plans, deliverables, and other project artifacts.
  • Work closely with the project sponsor and IT management to understand and prioritize project tasks, solve complex technical problems, understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Lead and develop an effective team, directing the work of multiple individuals to reach project milestones. Foster an environment of continuous improvement and team problem-solving, while documenting potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams.
  • Follows standard project management industry practices such as the PMI's framework.
  • Understands business and technical objectives of a project and works closely with project sponsor.
  • Creates project charter and work plan, and tracks budget and schedule progress via appropriate metrics.
  • Establishes project organization and methodologies and defines roles and responsibilities.
  • Documents risks and develops mitigation plans.
  • Manages scope.
  • Creates and implements a communication plan.
  • Builds an effective team, assigns tasks to team members, and evaluates outcomes.
  • Negotiates resources.
  • Communicates to stakeholders and project sponsor.
  • Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of issues and removal of barriers.
  • Provides technical support to project team members.
  • Handles complex application features and technical designs.
  • Designs and implements the components required for complex application features.
  • Manages a group of applications systems analysts.

NOTE: Open to nationwide candidates. Position is mostly remote but can require staff to come onsite as necessary with sufficient notice. Candidate MUST be physically located in the United States. Candidate will be required to provide their own equipment for this position.

Skills Required:
  • 12 years - Project Management experience
  • 12 years - In depth knowledge of system development life cycle deliverables for each phase of development
  • 12 years - Demonstrated competence in promoting understanding and cooperation within and between stakeholder groups
  • 12 years - Experience in requirements gathering and analysis
  • 12 years - Experience with meeting facilitation with varying stakeholder groups
  • 8 years - Experience managing projects that involve web application development and front and backend development technologies
  • 12 years - Stakeholder coordination, communication, and analysis
  • 8 years - Experience in Change Management
  • 12 years - Experience in Scope Management
  • 12 years - Experience in Risk Management
  • 8 years - Experience in Technical Writing and Documentation
  • 8 years - Experience in the creation or facilitation of user test, system test, and user acceptance test plans

Skills Desired A plus to have:
  • Professional Certification (PMP or similar)
