Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ software and related components.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability of messaging services. Hands-on experience of MQ Clustering, High Availability and DR Concepts Implement security measures to protect message queues and sensitive data.
Plan and implement capacity upgrades based on system usage trends.
Optimize system performance through configuration tuning and regular maintenance.
Develop backup and recovery strategies to safeguard messaging data.
Document configurations, processes, and procedures for reference purposes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate messaging solutions into existing systems.
Provide training and support to users on IBM MQ best practices.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and industry requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience Proven experience as an IBM MQ Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of IBM MQ architecture, installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Experience with security protocols and best practices for messaging systems.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation tasks is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of Veritas Clustering will have added value.
Certifications:
IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere MQ (Optional)
