Job Title: P&C Insurance Business Analyst SME (Remote, USA)

About the Role:
We are seeking a Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Business Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team supporting strategic insurance technology initiatives. This is a remote position for candidates with deep P&C domain expertise and a strong understanding of policy administration, billing, and claims processes. Prior experience with Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) is strongly preferred.
As a Business Analyst SME, you will serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that solutions align with business needs and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a domain expert in P&C insurance processes including policy administration, underwriting, billing, and claims.
Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements through workshops, stakeholder interviews, and research.
Translate business needs into detailed user stories, use cases, process flows, and functional specifications.
Support Guidewire system implementations or enhancements by aligning requirements with system capabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Business SMEs.
Conduct gap analysis, current vs. future state assessments, and support solution design.
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenario creation, defect triage, and issue resolution.
Maintain documentation in Confluence, JIRA, and other collaboration tools.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of Business Analysis experience in the P&C Insurance industry.
Strong knowledge of core insurance functions: quoting, underwriting, policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, billing, and claims.
Proven experience working on complex insurance technology projects.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and related tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Preferred Qualifications:
Guidewire suite experience (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter) highly preferred.
Experience working with third-party data providers and system integration projects.
Familiarity with data mapping, reporting requirements, or API-driven implementations.
Insurance certifications (e.g., AINS, CPCU) or Agile/BA certifications (CSPO, CBAP) are a plus.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
