About the Role:

We are seeking a Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Business Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team supporting strategic insurance technology initiatives. This is a remote position for candidates with deep P&C domain expertise and a strong understanding of policy administration, billing, and claims processes. Prior experience with Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) is strongly preferred.

As a Business Analyst SME, you will serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that solutions align with business needs and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a domain expert in P&C insurance processes including policy administration, underwriting, billing, and claims.

  • Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements through workshops, stakeholder interviews, and research.

  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, use cases, process flows, and functional specifications.

  • Support Guidewire system implementations or enhancements by aligning requirements with system capabilities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Business SMEs.

  • Conduct gap analysis, current vs. future state assessments, and support solution design.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenario creation, defect triage, and issue resolution.

  • Maintain documentation in Confluence, JIRA, and other collaboration tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Business Analysis experience in the P&C Insurance industry.

  • Strong knowledge of core insurance functions: quoting, underwriting, policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, billing, and claims.

  • Proven experience working on complex insurance technology projects.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and related tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Guidewire suite experience (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter) highly preferred.

  • Experience working with third-party data providers and system integration projects.

  • Familiarity with data mapping, reporting requirements, or API-driven implementations.

  • Insurance certifications (e.g., AINS, CPCU) or Agile/BA certifications (CSPO, CBAP) are a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
