On-Prem Kubernetes Systems Engineer

Collaborate with engineers, perform code/config reviews, and guide technical decisions.
Role Overview:
Manage and support on-prem Kubernetes clusters, ensuring cluster health, troubleshooting issues, and developing automation to improve performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, maintain, and scale on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
Troubleshoot full-stack issues (containers, pods, nodes, networking, storage).
Collaborate with developers on deployment/runtime issues.
Develop tools, operators, and automation for cluster operations.
Monitor performance, implement reliability/scalability improvements.
Maintain Helm charts, manifests, and CI/CD pipelines.
Document infrastructure, design decisions, and troubleshooting procedures.
Stay current with Kubernetes trends and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Experience managing on-prem Kubernetes (Kubeadm, RKE, etc.).
Proficient with Docker/containerd and Linux networking/storage.
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, FluxCD).
Skilled in Helm charts, Kustomize, or similar.
Strong troubleshooting/debugging and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Go).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd), ingress controllers (NGINX, Traefik), or internal DNS.
Familiarity with GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and secure Kubernetes practices.
Experience with HA and disaster recovery setups.
