Job Description
The Senior Architect, Applications is responsible for effective design, architecture and integration of applications, application services, application integration, and general infrastructure and non-infrastructure services utilized in the delivery of business solutions centered around ABS Digital Solutions products and services. Requires a good understanding of the company's product lines and the ability to deep dive into technology issues.
Working Schedule:
The preferred candidate for this position should be located in the Greater Houston area and open to work a hybrid schedule with three (3) days in the ABS Headquarters Office located in Spring, Texas, and two (2) days of remote work. For candidates outside of the Houston area, there may be an option for remote work.

What You Will Do:
- Position is responsible to own, drive and influence and shape the technical strategy and ongoing development of a modern architecture and align with organizational and product strategy.
- Collaborates with senior architects and peers across the organization and develop technical designs for key initiatives and product lines and evaluate solutions and gain consensus on technical direction
- Creates and implements technology solution architecture from a conceptual definition of the system.
- Performs architectural reviews, analysis and design for systems spanning the software products portfolio and formulate strategies to resolve problem areas.
- Researches, designs, tests, and evaluates new technologies and vendor solutions.
- Produces well written system documentation and diagrams at both the high and detailed level as well as solution work breakdown tasks that can be executed by team members with minimal clarification.
- Leads technical presentations and facilitate technical requirement discussion in meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Provides leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices. Prototypes/experiments/simulates new technical approaches to determine feasibility and effectiveness of solutions.
- Leads team of related disciplines in pursuit of strong Architecture and Design in support of ABS Digital Solutions products and offerings.
- Designs and oversees the development of integration-centric architectures and solutions.
- Designs solutions that transition from existing traditional platforms to a micro-services based architecture as needed
- Define new solutions using microservice-oriented architecture patterns, automating business process models and cloud-based services
- Conduct research to independently verify any new technical concept and its applicability in the Enterprise.
Education and Experience
- 10 years of experience in software applications
- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent, from an accredited university, in data processing discipline or equivalent industry experience.
- Must have expertise with developing multiple tiers of multi-tiered software applications, distributed applications and microservices architecture.
- Demonstratable expertise in designing enterprise level applications, products and systems
- Expertise in architecture for multiple development languages including Java, .Net, Azure, SQL, NoSQL
- Deep familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD and various deployment models
- Must have experience in technology architecture design and development, enterprise and solutions architecture and architectural frameworks
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in project execution and delivery
- Strong understanding of IOT and Data management and processing solutions
- Experience in thought leadership, white papers and leadership/mentoring of staff
- Passion for emerging technology advancements and practices (AI/ML, robotics, automation, IoT, analytics, AR/VR/MR, simulation, cloud, XaaS, SAAS, software-defined, Zero-Trust, Dev(SEC)Ops, Agile, and more) and their application to business.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, organization, time management and communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders and explain highly technical information in laymen's terms
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
