Job Details

Description:
We are looking for a hands-on data scientist is sought to develop prototypes of emerging technologies such as large language models (LLMs) and generative AI that solve complex business challenges. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience in AI/ML/NLP and data modeling, along with strong cloud engineering expertise to ensure seamless integration of solutions within cloud-native environments. This role is part of a dynamic team focused on applying advanced technologies to drive digital modernization and innovation.

Rate: $60-70/hr. W2

Location: Remote

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain an innovation lab focused on ideation, design, and engineering of cloud-native modernization projects using emerging technologies.

Develop comprehensive plans for implementing AI/ML/NLP solutions that meet cybersecurity and compliance standards.

Serve as a subject matter expert for large language model implementation and training.

Design and develop pilots, prototypes, and proof-of-concept solutions to validate modernization opportunities.

Ensure transparency, traceability, and security compliance, including preparation for Authorization To Operate (ATO) certifications.

Build predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to address complex business problems.

Create low-risk implementation plans and present recommendations and demonstrations to executive and technical stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams-data engineering, product, and business-to translate requirements into data-driven solutions.

Conduct exploratory data analysis and extract actionable insights from large datasets.

Support customer and user experience initiatives through research, metrics, and design artifacts such as wireframes and mockups.

Develop reusable code libraries and best practices for innovation and deployment.

Mentor junior data scientists and promote adoption of new technologies and methodologies.

Stay current with advancements in AI, ML, NLP, and cloud architectures.

Support Agile product teams in integrating and operationalizing emerging technologies.

Analyze usage data to identify patterns and opportunities for optimization.

Experience Requirements:
Experience with the following:

Proven track record of delivering impactful AI/ML/NLP solutions in cloud environments.

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and Java.

Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI

AI/ML/NLP frameworks and tools

Terraform, GitLab pipelines, and MLOps

PyTorch and statistical modeling

Databricks, Tableau, Power BI

Big Data & Cloud Platforms: Hadoop, Hive, AWS (S3, SageMaker, Redshift), Azure, Google Cloud Platform

Version control and containerization (Git, Docker)

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analytics, modeling, machine learning, NLP, and AI technologies within cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or equivalent clearance if required.

Must have resided in the U.S. continuously for the past two years.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
