The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part Time Student - Software Engineering for JD Intelligent Sols located in Cary, NC, you will:

  • Support the development of tools & scripts for increasing efficiency and user experience in John Deere's OpenRTOS based embedded software development.
  • Participate in innovation efforts to define the next generation of tools used by the entire embedded development community at Deere.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

This position is NOT available to students on immigration visas

What Skills You Need

  • Currently enrolled in courses towards completion of a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent embedded systems experience.
  • Expertise with embedded software development workflow.
  • Object-Oriented skills with languages like C# or Java.
  • Knowledgeable with Embedded C and scripting languages.
  • Ability to work 16-20 hours during the academic year
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer semester

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with C# and/or DevOps practices and tools
  • Ability to program using Python, Perl, and JavaScript
  • Working toward advanced degree in an engineering discipline or computer science

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
