We are looking for a Lead Start-Up/Commissioning Engineer to provide Commissioning and Start-Up services to our clients. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work for a Global Engineering Firm. This position shall be responsible for the development of start-up and commissioning plans, commissioning documentation and hands-on execution of these plans for a variety of facilities, systems and equipment.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee, coordinate and execute the start-up and commissioning and visual inspection of both clean and dirty process utilities. Utility systems to include: water softeners, water filtration, chilled water/cooling towers, HVAC, cooling distribution units, and related equipment.

Develop Start-Up and Commissioning Plans for utility systems (generation and distribution)

Generate and execute Start-Up and Commissioning documents according to Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)

Startup equipment in a safe and effective manner

Develop and implement LOTO plans

Facilitate meetings of the Utilities Team

Maintain action item lists

Maintain engineering change control logs

Provide technical assistance and input

Coordination of OEM Service technicians as needed

Apply engineering knowledge of, and experience with, HVAC, utilities, electrical and electrical backup systems, instrumentation, controls, and automation to support clients

Here's what you'll need

Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree

At least 8 years of Start-Up and Commissioning experience

Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)

Experience performing walkdowns with sub-contractors and clients to drive punch list closure

Flexibility and willingness to travel and work at various clients' locations

Please note: This position will require traveling from North Carolina to South Carolina

Ideally you'll have:

Commissioning experience

EIDA experience

Ability to work well with diverse, multi-disciplined groups

Ability to effectively communicate with management and fellow project team members

Ability to negotiate/compromise with other project team members to achieve project goals

Ability to listen and respect fellow project team member's ideas and opinions and work through conflicts or disagreements

Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel

The base salary range for this position is $144,700.00 to $235,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
