As a Consulting Principal Test Engineer specializing in Satellites, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic and innovative engineering team. This position will be responsible for leading the testing and validation of our cutting-edge satellite systems. You will be working on high-impact projects that involve designing, developing, and implementing testing processes for our satellite systems. This role will grant you the opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled engineers and scientists, providing you with an environment to grow and develop your skills while contributing to the advancement of space exploration technology.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement test strategies for satellite systems, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing.
2. Conduct tests in various environments such as shock, load, EMI, EMC, vacuum, acoustic, and vibration.
3. Analyze test results, document findings, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
4. Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of any issues identified during testing.
5. Collaborate with design engineers to optimize product performance and reliability.
6. Ensure all testing procedures comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
8. Participate in design reviews, providing expert advice on testability and risk assessment.
9. Continually improve testing methods and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Stay abreast of the latest developments in satellite technology and testing methodologies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in satellite testing or a related field.
3. Extensive knowledge of testing environments such as shock, load, EMI, EMC, vacuum, acoustic, and vibration.
4. Proven experience in developing and implementing test strategies for complex systems.
5. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
7. Proficient in using testing tools and equipment.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
9. Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements for satellite testing.
10. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
11. Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to continually learn and improve.
12. Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours to meet project deadlines.
