About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Operations Engineer to join our team in a contingent capacity. In this role, you will lead the support and optimization of complex, large-scale production systems. You will play a critical role in incident and problem management, change and release processes, and the continuous improvement of operational practices.
This is a senior-level technical position requiring deep expertise in systems operations, application support, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with engineering, development, and business teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and consult on complex, high-impact initiatives related to Systems Operations Engineering.
- Analyze and resolve large-scale, multi-faceted operational challenges involving novel or ambiguous factors.
- Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Champion the adoption of ITIL-based practices including change, release, and problem management.
- Lead efforts to modernize and mature global support services and tooling.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies related to security, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Support and maintain Tier 1 applications built on IIS/.NET/SQL and multi-tier web hosting environments with clustering and load balancing.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale, production-grade systems and applications.
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and operational best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience with enterprise technologies such as IIS, .NET, SQL Server, and web hosting infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a corporate or enterprise environment with critical, high-availability systems.
- Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
