About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines, reporting environments, and business intelligence solutions, primarily leveraging Power BI, various reporting tools, and the Office 365 suite within a Windows-based environment.
You will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration workflows.
Build, enhance, and manage Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets for business units across the organization.
Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver intuitive, high-performing data solutions.
Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are met across all reporting tools and platforms.
Leverage Office 365 applications (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) to manage report collaboration, distribution, and automation.
Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Power BI Service (workspaces, datasets, gateways).
Develop documentation for data processes, models, and dashboard usage.
Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from various sources (on-premises and cloud).
Collaborate with IT infrastructure and security teams to ensure the reliability and compliance of data systems in a Windows environment.
Qualifications
Required:
3 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Developer, or similar role.
Strong expertise with Power BI (desktop and service) including DAX, Power Query (M language), and custom visualizations.
Proficiency with reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Tableau, QlikView) preferred.
Hands-on experience with Office 365 ecosystem (Excel, SharePoint, Power Automate, Teams).
Comfortable working in Windows Server and Windows 10/11 client environments.
Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc.).
Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization, data warehouses).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
Good communication skills to translate technical solutions into business value.
Preferred:
Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics).
Basic scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA).
