Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Administrator Operator to provide technical support for a large-scale Cisco switch replacement initiative across 200+ global branch sites. This role requires hands-on expertise in Cisco switch configuration, migration coordination, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess deep networking knowledge, strong coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous branch migrations across global time zones. This is a 100% onsite position located at our Headquarters in Vienna, VA, with a dedicated shift of Monday Friday, 4:00 PM 12:00 AM EST and occasional weekend or overtime requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration, patching, upgrading, and wiping of Cisco switches prior to e-waste.
  • Coordinate multiple site migrations daily, including change tickets, internal teams, external vendors, and branch support.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to track and ensure optimal network performance during migrations.
  • Open, manage, and track service and change management tickets throughout the migration process.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve network issues in collaboration with vendors or remote hands support.
  • Maintain, configure, and perform preventative maintenance on network circuits and equipment.
  • Document technical procedures and contribute to project documentation updates.
  • Support installation and deinstallation of remote site networking circuits (VLAN, WAP, etc.)
  • Perform other assigned duties and tasks based on business need.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Cisco networking (routers, switches, VLAN setup).
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex, multi-site migration projects.
  • In-depth understanding of LAN/WAN topologies and protocols (EIGRP, BGP, TCP/IP, Metro Ethernet, SDLC, RS232).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in network connectivity issues and remote resolution.
  • Experience with WAN/LAN configuration, circuit maintenance, and vendor coordination.
  • Hands-on experience managing internal/external ticketing systems and change management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • CCNA or CCNP certification strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Service Management tools (incident/change ticket creation, tracking).
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to leadership or stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of network-related electronic principles and desktop-to-host system architecture.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research, and advanced troubleshooting skills.

Shift & Onboarding Details

  • Shift: Monday Friday, 4:00 PM 12:00 AM EST.
  • Training: Two-week onboarding (Mon Fri, 10:00 AM 6:30 PM EST) onsite in Vienna, VA.
  • Occasional overtime for Saturday migrations or extended projects.
