Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Toledo, OH (Onsite 3 4 Days/Week)
Duration: 12 Months (W2 /1099 Contract Only)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer for a long-term contract with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing company in Toledo, OH. This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, yield, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will serve as a key technical resource across production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams.
Note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be comfortable with onsite presence (3 4 days/week), potential exposure to Beryllium powder, and may be required to complete additional health screenings, including blood tests and compliance with onsite hygiene protocols (e.g., showering).
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee manufacturing processes for both new and existing products to ensure stability and continuous improvement.
Serve as the technical point of contact for shop floor support, addressing process issues and maintaining product quality.
Collaborate with EH&S teams to ensure safe working environments.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles for process optimization and issue resolution.
Provide technical assistance to global customers as needed.
Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
2 5 years of experience in a technical manufacturing environment, ideally involving metals.
Hands-on experience in metal casting, physical metallurgy, or scrap degreasing is preferred.
Familiarity with control charting, statistical analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies (certification is a plus).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
