Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and monitor storage environments using EMC ViPR SRM (Storage Resource Management) tools for alerting, reporting, and capacity planning.

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of storage arrays such as VNX, VMAX, Isilon, VPLEX and SAN/NAS infrastructure across platforms.

  • Implement performance optimization and scalability measures, including maintenance tasks like firmware upgrades and patching with minimal disruption.

  • Design and generate comprehensive dashboards, chargeback reporting, and trend analytics for capacity and utilization tracking.

  • Facilitate integration of EMC ViPR with virtualization stacks and management interfaces via REST APIs and tools like VMware, OpenStack, or Hyper-V.

  • Troubleshoot ViPR SRM, array connectivity, data collection issues, and escalate hardware or software problems as needed.

  • Maintain accurate storage documentation, inventories, and standard operating procedures in line with company or audit requirements.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Dell EMC storage systems: VNX, VMAX, Isilon, VPLEX, XtremIO, Unity, PowerMax, PowerScale.

  • In-depth knowledge of SAN/NAS administration, including zoning, LUN masking, provisioning, and protocols like Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB.

  • Proficient in Storage Resource Management tools like EMC ViPR SRM, SRM Workbench, Solutions Enabler, Unisphere, Control Center.

  • Strong knowledge of data protection, replication, and backup technologies such as RecoverPoint, Avamar, Data Domain, Networker, SRDF, snapshots, and cloning.

  • Skilled in automating tasks, scripting via Shell, Perl, Python, or PowerShell for reporting and operations.

  • Understanding of virtual environments and integration with platforms like VMware, OpenStack, and Hyper-V.
