Job Details

This respected engineering and technology-focused organization is known for their collaborative culture, emphasis on innovation, and commitment to developing solutions that support stronger, more resilient communities. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to take ownership of their network and server infrastructure. You will act as the go-to technical expert for both infrastructure management and end-user support, helping drive stability, security, and continuous improvement across the environment. This is role is 4 days on-site in Wakefield, MA.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years working in a Network Engineer or Network Administrator role within an SMB or enterprise setting
  • Strong background managing firewalls, routers, switches, VPN technologies, and general network operations
  • Hands-on experience supporting Cisco, Meraki, and/or Fortinet networking solutions
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows-based administration
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure environments, virtualization (VMware), and backup platforms such as Veeam
  • Strong understanding of core networking concepts including routing protocols (e.g., BGP), SD-WAN, segmentation, IPSec, and wireless technologies

Daily Responsibilities
  • Maintain and administer core network components and security systems
  • Implement improvements to strengthen infrastructure resilience and threat protection
  • Monitor network and server health to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to enhance security policies and operational standards
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365 configuration and support
  • Coordinate hardware procurement and oversee device lifecycle management
