Position: VP Oracle Database Administrator
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid 3 days/week onsite)

Overview:
We re seeking a seasoned Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in performance tuning, high availability, and full lifecycle database administration. This role involves maintaining and optimizing enterprise-level Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, resiliency, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle database environments.

  • Monitor system health, availability, and performance.

  • Perform database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and data security.

  • Manage Oracle Grid Infrastructure and storage (including ASM).

  • Automate routine DBA tasks and support HA/DR solutions (RAC, DataGuard).

  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and support production releases.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reliable and efficient database operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience (versions 11g 19c+).

  • Strong expertise in performance tuning and core DBA functions.

  • Experience with Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Linux/Unix environments.

  • Solid scripting skills (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell).

  • Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred:

  • Prior financial services industry experience.

  • Exposure to cloud environments and other RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Sybase).

  • OS administration skills.
