Additional Detail
Job Description:
To provide network support to the University's network environment ensuring reliable, secure, and robust network communication systems. Support includes planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining network communication systems (routing, switching and data center technologies).
Minimum Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of data communication concepts, topologies, and protocols.
Considerable knowledge of data cabling and network infrastructure installation.
Working knowledge of routing and switching technologies, to include wireless infrastructure support.
Working knowledge of network design, administration, operations and management.
Working knowledge of networking requirements for servers and storage platforms.
Working knowledge of power distribution system and related requirements.
Demonstrated ability to interact with vendors and co-workers.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage time.
Effective communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with new leading edge technology with minimal assistance and prior knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to provide technical guidance to other staff members.
