About Synrad
Synrad creates Manufacturing and Laser Engineers using a development program called "14 Wolves". This program trains the future leaders of Synrad. Candidates with no laser experience will be taught to build, align, test, use, and design lasers. Engineering, manufacturing, and business skills covered in the program are: Laser manufacturing, Engineering Change process, Project Management, Quality Control, and Continuous Improvement best practices.
The program's first year involves working on the production team, rotating through laser tube assembly, laser assembly, laser alignment, and Quality Control. The second year, the candidate puts their laser knowledge to use by leading engineering changes, participating in process improvement through Kaizen, and project management to improve Synrad's products and processes. R&D team, contributing to the design, implementation and testing of complex laser based products under the guidance and supervision of a staff scientist. They will participate in new product development projects and the support of the existing product
Primary Responsibilities
Initial Learnings (1-2 years):
Mechanical Assembly
Optics Assembly and pre-alignment
Laser Tube Processing
Electronic Assy
RF Tuning
Laser Alignment
Laser Testing
Quality Control
Advancing Learnings:
Manufacturing process documentation
Problem solving
Continuous improvement best practices
Conducts experimental tests and computer simulations.
Collects and documents accurate and conclusive test data.
Analyze technical data and draw conclusions from the analysis.
Generate clear and concise reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Develop an understanding of the state of the art in the field of lasers (such as plasma physics, optics or RF excitation). Work as part of a team (both R&D and cross-functional). Work with other departments (Production, Sourcing, Applications Engineering etc.) to resolve technical issues.
Work on assigned tasks without detailed supervision (levels II and III). Design and assembles experimental models and prototypes involving opto-electro-mechanical, laser, vacuum and other equipment and facilities.
Maintains high standards of workmanship and workplace safety.
Understanding Laser Physics and Laser Engineering principles and concepts
Ability to conduct tests and experiments involving lasers
Familiarity with scientific computing related to lasers and optics
Laser Physics , Electro-Magnetism, Plasma Physics, Thermal Physics.
Geometric and Gaussian (Physical) Optics. Optical design and analysis.
Experience with laser test & alignment equipment, and metrology methods.
*Length of steps of the program are based on the individual
