Reporting to the Director of Engineering Excellence, this position is responsible for delivering business-critical insights through advanced data analysis, dashboard development, and performance reporting. The Senior Data Analyst will play a key role in turning complex datasets into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

This individual will be expected to lead the development of scalable, interactive Power BI dashboards, work with large datasets through SQL and OData queries among others, and support cross-functional teams by delivering timely and accurate data analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen, business curiosity, and a passion for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location: Plymouth, MN, Hybrid (Relocation reimbursement is not available for this role)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports that provide real-time insights into key business metrics.
  • Partner with stakeholders across functions to understand reporting needs and deliver intuitive, user-friendly visualizations.
  • Write efficient and scalable SQL and OData queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Perform exploratory and statistical data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and areas of opportunity.
  • Translate complex data into concise summaries and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Establish and document data standards, definitions, and processes to support consistent reporting practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data pipelines and integrations are aligned with analytics requirements.
  • Manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality, timely results.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for business intelligence tools, data sources, and best practices for data visualization.
  • Relationship Management and Deliverables:
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reporting and analytics align with evolving business priorities.
  • Strong partnership with Enterprise Digital-Data Analytics function to ensure best practice and standards adherence.
  • Provide support and training to end users of Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics tools.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in efforts to improve data governance and analytics maturity across the organization.
  • Support strategic planning and operational decision-making with data-driven insights.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in a data analysis, business intelligence, or related role.
  • Advanced proficiency in manipulating data sets and building statistical models leveraging Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and custom visuals.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and data extraction from structured databases.
  • Familiarity with OData protocols and experience querying APIs and external data services.
  • Proven ability to handle large, complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Highly organized with a bias for action and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with enterprise database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, or similar).
  • Exposure to ETL tools and data pipeline development.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices in building scalable analytics solutions.
  • Experience in Agile development environments and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Track record of delivering business impact through data storytelling and insight generation.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking ownership of end-to-end analytics initiatives.

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,000- $135,000 + a 10% annual variable bonus in Plymouth, MN. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
