As a Senior Manager of Data Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Merchant Services, you will play a pivotal leadership role. Job responsibilities
- Provides overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level data engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Makes strategic decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and implementation of processes and procedures
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Experience leading teams of data engineers.
- Ability to guide and coach teams in order to achieve goals aligned to strategic initiatives.
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Expertise in designing and implementing scalable data architectures and pipelines.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python and SQL.
- Experience with data warehousing technologies
- Experience with AWS cloud platform including their data services.
- Strong database skills with a thorough understanding of databases and data modelling concepts.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficiency in Big Data technologies, with a strong focus on Performance Optimization using best practices.
- Strong comprehension of Snowflake implementations.
