Job Details

Job Title: IT Customer Support Specialist III (8826)
Location: Columbia, SC (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 Months

Interview Process:
* Round 1 - Virtual (Video Required)
* Round 2 - Onsite
Candidate Requirement: MUST be a South Carolina resident OR willing to relocate at their own expense before starting.
Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.


Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities
* Build desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
* Verify proper installation, including:
- BitLocker encryption keys stored in Active Directory and InTune.
- MECM client installed successfully.
* Ensure devices remain connected to the NTS Network for at least 2.5 hours post-build for proper check-in.
* Install all software listed on build sheets for each device.
* Document all assigned assets desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, scanners, docking stations according to IT Services Asset Management procedures.
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues reported by end-users; update actions taken in the help desk ticketing system.
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on IT equipment or coordinate with vendors for service.
* Assist with removal/disposal of obsolete equipment using electronic TID and disposal processes; salvage usable parts.
* Perform other related IT support duties as required.

Monthly Responsibilities
* Connect SCDOT Commission backup tablets to NTS Network for Patch Tuesday updates.
* Ensure tablets are powered and connected from the 2nd Friday of each month until the following Wednesday at 12 PM.
* Power and maintain iPads for the same duration.
* Log in using a local account prior to monthly shutdown.


Required Skills
* 4+ years of experience in desktop and networked systems support (desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners).
* 2+ years of experience in computer deployments, operations, and repair.
* 2+ years of experience in hardware and software installation.
* 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
* Experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Edge).
* Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
* Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (required occasionally) and 20 lbs (required frequently).


Preferred Skills
* Experience using a help desk ticketing system.
* Experience with NTS Network environments.
* Experience with Active Directory or InTune.
