Job Details
Role: Wireless Validation Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA (Onsite)
Type: Contract
Qualifications
- S. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a similar discipline with 8+ years of experience.
- Hands-on experience configuring/programming wireless test platforms (Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz) and testing/troubleshooting modem development boards and prototypes.
- Expertise in 3GPP 4G-LTE / 5G-NR network architecture, WiFi, Ethernet standards (IEEE 802.1AS, 802.11), and IP network protocols.
- Hands-on test experience with SFN/PTCRBF test suites with U.S. MNO & field testing.
- Experience with Wi-Fi, PHY designs, and coexistence between Wi-Fi, Cellular and GNSS.
- Ability to use network analysis tools (e.g., QXDM, Wireshark) and analyze communication behavior.
- Advanced scripting/automation skills (Python, JavaScript) with scalable framework design.
Bonus Qualifications
- S. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a similar discipline with 7+ years of experience.
- Solid understanding and experience with the NR radio interface, SA/NSA protocol, PHY and MAC layer features/functions, as well as RRC layer control and user plane functions.
- Automotive Test Asset or HIL knowledge is a plus.
- Consistent track record of independently leading a complete area of technology and driving product quality while working with cross-functional teams in the field of Cellular, WiFi and GNSS validation.
- Process/Tool Familiarity with: Requirement-Test Case management tools (Polarion preferred). Ubuntu operating system and Command Line Interface. Python scripting. Atlassian software products (Jira/Confluence).
