Looking to hire a Product Owner for industry-leading software platform designed to streamline off-duty and extra-duty processes for law enforcement agencies. It connects officers, agencies, and customers through user-friendly web and mobile applications, aiming to simplify scheduling, time tracking, payment, and other administrative tasks associated with off-duty assignments

Role and Responsibilities

As a Product Owner, you'll be responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring the delivered product meets user needs and aligns with the company's vision.

  • Product Vision and Strategy:
    • Defining the product vision for the development team.
    • Collaborating with stakeholders (including customers and law enforcement agencies) to understand and anticipate their needs.
    • Developing and owning the product roadmap, informed by stakeholder and customer input.
  • Backlog Management:
    • Defining and maintaining the product backlog.
    • Prioritizing backlog items based on business value and customer needs.
    • Grooming and prioritizing the backlog based on evolving requirements.
  • Requirements and Development:
    • Translating product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements, including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
    • Providing clarity on user stories and features to the development team.
    • Working with the development team in an Agile environment.
    • Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Acting as the key liaison between the business, the development team, and end-users.
    • Partnering with sales departments to define the user experience for internal users.
    • Working with user-focused departments to define the self-service user experience, support, and monitoring for customers.
    • Communicating product progress, updates, and status reports to the product team and end-users.
    • Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints.
  • Analysis and Improvement:
    • Analyzing preferences and requests of end-users.
    • Refining the Agile methodology based on results and client feedback.
    • Continuously reviewing business needs and refining priorities.
    • Tracking industry trends and competitor offerings.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:
    • Demonstrate your experience with law enforcement and leveraging technology to solve problem is a big plus
    • Strong background in product management or a similar role.
    • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product lifecycle.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies.
    • Ability to translate data insights into products with actionable outcomes for the customer.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Team spirit and excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities:
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to identify user needs and help customers understand business value.
    • Skill in defining acceptance criteria for user stories.
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
