Valiant Solutions is seeking multiple Software Test Engineers to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team!
The Test Engineers will support our agile software development practice, aiding an environmentally focused Federal Government client. The agency's programs aim to promote environmental sustainability and protect the natural resources of our planet. As part of this contract, we will be supporting the agency's efforts to develop and maintain information systems that facilitate the tracking and reporting of environmental data. Our team will work closely with the agency to ensure that the information systems are secure, compliant with accessibility standards, and support the agency's business processes.
The Test Engineers will work with the team of software developers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software applications. The ideal candidate will have entry level from college with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and have a passion for testing web applications. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work closely with business analysts, scrum masters, and other stakeholders, and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Required Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
- Experience in both manual and automated testing
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or Cypress
- Familiarity with testing tools such as TestRail, JIRA, and Jenkins
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues
- Understanding of security standards and accessibility compliance (Section 508)
- Familiarity with load testing and performance testing methodologies and tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Passion for delivering high-quality software products
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to ensure the quality of software applications
- Lead automation testing initiatives
- Design and implement comprehensive automation strategies for large projects
- Proficiently troubleshoot complex automation issues and provide technical solutions
- Database Testing
- Implement CI/CD Pipeline automation to allow for automatic daily regression testing
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure the successful delivery of software applications
- Execute test cases and report defects using issue tracking tools such as Jira
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on the testability and maintainability of software code
- Work with the development team to identify and resolve software defects
- Participate in the continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) process to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products
- Continuously update test scripts and test cases to reflect changes in software applications and requirements
- Ensure that software development methodologies and best practices are followed, and that code is maintainable, scalable, and testable
- Maintain technical documentation, including test plans, test cases, and release notes
- Provide support to development team members, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software testing, and provide recommendations for new tools and techniques that can improve the testing process
