Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking Navy SLQ-32/SEWIP Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive component and system level maintenance for shipboard Systems. The work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia adjacent to the VACAPES Op Area. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the various AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.

The selected candidate will perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance on the SLQ-32 and SEWIP systems at the AEGIS and SSDS facilities located on Wallops Island, VA. Provide system equipment configuration and operations support for all deployed baseline AEGIS and SSDS variants. Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing the SKED program in accordance with the Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum education and years of service required: High School/GED and at least 3 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment, PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualifications within 3 months of employment.

Security Clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding clearance are driven by US government requirements. Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Highly desired, but not required: Active DoD Secret security clearance Certified ETA Fiber Optic Installer. Experience trouble shooting and repairing Low Level Serial and Parallel interface cables. Experience with Network devices and an understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX.

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
