About This Role

Textron Systems Wilmington, MA is seeking an Industrial Engineer to primarily model, mature and improve their aerospace manufacturing capabilities for the entire manufacturing flow while occasionally assisting the mechanical engineering design team with packaging solutions. Necessary skills are modelling and simulation of manufacturing and material flow with a willingness to learn contractual requirements, NX Siemens and site processes. In this role, you will utilize your industrial engineering expertise and analytical skills to drive significant process improvements and optimize production flows. You will conduct manufacturing readiness assessments, assist with formal transition to production and perform utilization and capacity analyses for machine shops and manufacturing areas. You will also work with the design engineering team to develop requirements and modify packaging solutions that protect our product throughout the manufacturing life cycle and delivery.   • Industrial Engineering Modeling Software Utilization: Use industrial engineering modeling software to simulate production flows , optimize manufacturing processes, identify potential bottlenecks or constraints and confirm the achievability of planned cycle times.
  • Manufacturing Readiness Assessments: Perform thorough assessments to ensure that production processes are prepared for smooth operation.
  • T ransition to Production Efforts: Lead formal transitions to production using existing policies and procedures to ensure seamless implementation.
  • Utilization and Capacity Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses of machine shop utilization and capacity to identify areas of improvement.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with facilities, EH&S, Manufacturing Engineering, and operations leadership to establish new production areas and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Occasionally Support Packaging Engineering Activities: as required by project needs. This would include working with the design engineering team and suppliers to document, review and test packaging solutions.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering or a related field with 5+ years' experience.
  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering or a related field with 2+ years' experience.
  • Ability to show proficiency (during interview) in using industrial engineering modelling software for simulating production flows. Simio and CAD are highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform detailed assessments and analyses.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead and manage transitions to production using existing policies and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to implement process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills to present findings and recommendations clearly to leadership.
  • Willingness to increase knowledge of manufacturing technologies and lean principles.
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience with Siemens NX is desired.

Salary Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience.
    • Level II - $89,800-$135,600
  • 5+ years' experience.
    • Level III - $100,300-$151,900
