You will lead the execution of complex test activities across all phases of product development, including feasibility, development, characterization, material, and design verification testing.
You will develop and validate new test methods, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and well-documented to support product requirements and regulatory standards.
You will demonstrate a strong understanding of test equipment and data interpretation to troubleshoot issues, improve test setups, and ensure reliable results.
You will design and validate custom fixtures and test systems using CAD tools, collaborating with internal and external machine shops as needed.
You will author and update technical documentation including test procedures, protocols, reports, and equipment builder instructions, with strong technical writing skills.
You will drive TMV (Test Method Validation) and MSA (Measurement System Analysis) activities using statistical tools such as Gauge R&R, t-tests, and ANOVA.
You will drive automation initiatives using tools like Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW to streamline testing and data analysis.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to align testing strategies with project goals.
You will assist in lab management, including equipment troubleshooting, safety protocol enforcement, documentation, lab organization, and audit preparation.
You may be responsible for supporting R&D teams through equipment lifecycle activities using the Maximo equipment management system.
Be flexible with work hours and responsive to shifting priorities, including early mornings, late nights, or possible overtime when necessary to support testing schedules, project demands, or urgent operational tasks.
What makes you successful:
BS or MS in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent, with 2 5 years of experience in test engineering or related fields.
Advanced experience designing fixtures, tools, or equipment using CAD software (SolidWorks or OnShape preferred).
Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C, VBA) for test automation and data analysis.
Strong understanding of statistical analysis and DOE techniques (e.g., Gauge R&R, t-test, ANOVA) to support TMV and MSA activities.
Demonstrated ability to author protocols, reports, and equipment builder documentation with strong technical writing skills.
Experience developing, validating, and automating test methods, including troubleshooting and optimizing test setups.
Deep familiarity with electromechanical test equipment and measurement systems, with proven troubleshooting capabilities.
Strong data orientation and ability to interpret complex test results to drive engineering decisions.
May be responsible for managing equipment records and maintenance schedules using the Maximo equipment management system.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to evaluate options and develop practical solutions.
