Job Details
Design and develop high-quality, interactive dashboards using Power BI
Apply advanced Power BI functionality, including DAX, Power Query, row-level security, and
optimized data models
Translate project objectives and user needs into the appropriate dashboard type (strategic, operational, analytical, tactical, or informational)
Build dashboards that are intuitive, reliable, and visually coherent, enabling users to interpret data with confidence
Ensure all visualizations adhere to best practices in design, interactivity, and performance
Data Analysis and Insight Generation
Analyze datasets to identify key patterns, trends, and performance indicators
Collaborate with analysts and subject matter experts to interpret findings and shape analytical outputs
Translate complex data into clear insights that support decision-making
Validate data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across reports and dashboards
Implementation and Documentation
Maintain documentation for all dashboards, including data sources, calculations, and metrics
Manage version control and change tracking for dashboards and reports
Publish and maintain dashboards within Power BI Service, including configuration of permissions and access controls
Support integration of dashboards into web platforms or portals when needed
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with data engineers, analysts, scientists, and domain experts to ensure
visualizations meet both technical and analytical goals
Present dashboards and analyses to clients and stakeholders, communicating findings clearly and effectively
Participate in internal meetings to review progress, troubleshoot issues, and share best
practices
Mentoring and Knowledge Sharing
Provide guidance to team members on Power BI usage, dashboard design, and visualization standards
Stay current with Power BI updates, visualization techniques, and industry best practices, applying them to Luminosity s work
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree Data Visualization, Information Design, Data Analytics,
Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience developing dashboards and performing data analysis using Power BI
A related master s degree can be substituted for two years of experience
Technical Skills:
Advanced expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, row-level security, data modeling, and dashboard publishing
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing interactive dashboards across multiple types (strategic, operational, analytical, tactical, informational)
Proficiency with SQL for querying, validating, and preparing data
Working knowledge of embedding dashboards into web platforms using HTML, CSS, or
JavaScript preferred
Familiarity with other visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and programming languages (e.g.,
Python, R) is a plus but not required
Non-Technical Skills:
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
