Key Responsibilities:

Site Survey:

• Complete the site survey document provided.
• Validate the New Bill of Materials (BOM) and the existing BOM.
• Populate the rack elevation and inspect the rack layout.
• Assess the current Access Point (AP) locations and document with photos.
• Capture photos of the front and back of the rack, existing devices, and new switches.
• Fill out a detailed questionnaire for information gathering.
• Inspect and photograph the existing power socket type.
• Ensure compatibility of newly received power cables with existing setups.

Parallel Build:

• Bring necessary equipment (tools, screws, brackets) for rack and stack installation.
• Mount and stack new network switches as per client instructions.
• Ensure the new switch stack is operational.
• Bring a laptop with console access capability and PuTTY pre-installed for switch configuration.
• Provide console access for client validation.

Cutover:

• Migrate existing switch connections to the newly installed switches.

Decommissioning:

• Unmount and safely decommission old switches.

Access Point Installation:

• Mount new access points in ceiling locations as specified.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in network engineering, particularly in switch installation, configuration, and AP deployment.
• Proficient with switch stacking and cabling.
• Familiar with network infrastructure site surveys and documenting findings.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and according to a specified project timeline.
• Experience with decommissioning old network hardware.
• Strong attention to detail in documenting and verifying hardware installations.
• Ability to lift and install network equipment in racks and ceilings.
• Must have own tools for rack and stack installation.
• Laptop with console access and PuTTY installed is required.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with common switch brands such as Cisco, Juniper, or HP.
• Experience with access point installation in office environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to ensure smooth cutover processes.
