Job Details

Summary:
Responsible for preparing, staging, and executing hardware setups and shutdowns-including racks, hard drives, and switches-based on detailed instructions, protocols, and communications. Ensures all cabling, labeling, grounding, and staging meet safety standards and deployment requirements. Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting to quickly identify and resolve hardware issues, replacing faulty components as needed. Supports hardware decommissioning and refresh tasks such as memory upgrades and OS rebuilds with minimal supervision. Follows escalation procedures and communicates effectively with Data Center Technician Leads.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Monitor systems for equipment failures and performance issues.
  • Respond to error messages and resolve or escalate problems.
  • Assist in testing and debugging new programs with developers and analysts.
  • Use software tools (e.g., spreadsheets) to manage data and generate reports.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Previous data center experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training.
  • 3-5 years of total experience in IT or data center environments.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
